主产于河南新郑、中牟等地,也是新郑枣区的主栽品种之一,约占新郑枣区总产量的30%,是我国红枣出口拳头产品,主要固定销到东南亚和日本等地,经济效益较高。
果实较小,平均单果重5.6g,大小整齐。‘鸡心枣’的代表型为鸡心状,果皮薄,果肉厚,致密,质细,味极甜,可溶性固形物含量31%以上,可食率 91.8%,是优良的制干品种,制干率较灰枣高,干枣可食率约为90.3%,核小,肉质较紧实,有弹性,耐压挤,耐贮藏,品质极上。
果实于9月中旬成熟。树势较旺、丰产、稳产,抗干旱、耐盐碱、耐瘠薄、抗干热风、抗病虫能力强,特别是抗枣缩果病。成熟季节遇雨不裂果。因与酸枣亲缘关系较近,因而用酸枣作砧木改接后丰产、稳产性好。最枣中的优良品种,可大面积推广栽培。新郑小枣为地理标志商标。
