产于河南罗山。产地地处豫北丘陵山区,气候温湿,河道纵横,灵山鸭生长条件优越,无然饵料来源充足,所以产蛋个大、黄大、味纯。腌制时采用地方传统工艺。经选蛋、过照、验质、称重后。辅以当地产毛尖香茶、深井甘泉、糖、盐等多种原料熬制料水,浸泡缸底。根据季节气候变化调整料水温度。待5-6周后成熟、出缸。精选皮色好、无裂纹、弹性足者出口。

成品松花蛋,蛋壳易剥不粘连,蛋白呈半透明的褐色凝固体,蛋白表面有松枝状花纹,蛋黄呈深绿色凝固状,有的具有溏心。切开后蛋块色彩斑斓。食之清凉爽口,香而不腻,味道鲜美。
