杞县酱红萝卜已有160余年的历史。该产品1933年全国铁路沿线产品展览会,获得奖状。1982年获河南省优质食品奖。
杞县酱红萝卜之所以风味独特,闻名中外,是和它的精先原料,严谨操作分不开的。选用的萝卜“线穗”,系杞县东关坡吴村特产。“线穗”萝卜上下均匀,顶小芯细,无丝无渣,色泽鲜红,晶莹透亮。经过7次酱腌 80 多天后,腌出的酱红萝卜色泽紫红明亮,咸中透甜,脆嫩可口,酱香浓郁,可四季食用,亦可入席做配菜。
古时,杞县有一位卖咸菜的年轻人叫莫春,一位种胡萝卜的年轻人叫吴坡。一个种萝卜,一个腌萝卜,二人友情深厚,像亲兄弟一样,谁也离不开谁。一天,吴坡暴病身亡,莫春痛不欲生,在坟前哭了三天三夜。第三天夜里,南海观音下凡,用金簪划了两亩地,嘱莫春精心耕种。莫春强忍悲痛,按观音的吩咐去做,结果种出的胡萝卜色泽鲜红,与外地的胡萝卜截然不同。被金簪划出的两亩地,就是现在杞县东北的东坡吴、西坡吴、前坡吴这三个村子。
后来,有人试图引进这一地区的胡萝卜品种,但不管怎样精心耕种,长出的胡萝卜仍不是原品种的口味;这大概是由于与坡吴三村的水土气候不同所致吧。
Qixian Sauced Carrot
Qixian Sauced Carrot has a history of over 160 years. It was a winner in the products prohibition along the railway in 1933 and earned the prize of Henan High-quality Food in 1982.
Qixian Sauced Carrot has a special taste and a reputation around the world since its well-chosen materials and careful cooking process. A special kind of carrot it uses is a specialty of Wucun Village, Qixian, which has a very high quality with uniform slotted up and down, no dregs and nice appearance. After 7 times of marinade for at least 80 days, we can get a very delicious and tempting dish, which can be eaten for every season.
In ancient times, there was a young boy called Mu Chun, who sold salted vegetables, and another boy, Wu Po, sold carrots. They were so intimate that they couldn’t leave each other. However, one day, Wu Po died from disease. Mu Chun was so sad that he tore for 3 days in front of Wu’s tomb. In the third night, Godness came and painted 1,333 square meters of land for Mu to cultivate. According to Godness’s advice, Mu did all the things and finally he harvested high-quality carrots, which were so different with the carrots in other areas. The 1,333 square meters of land is the three villages of Dongpowu, Xipowu and Qianpowu in current time. From then on, there are many people try to import this kind of carrot. Pitifully, no matter how hard they try, the taste is always different from those in the three villages of Powu. Maybe it is caused by the different climates.
