Gushi Wickerworks

   
    Gushi wickerwork products are well welcomed by customers and merchants for their white color, unique shape, good style and ingenious spinning. They develop from single kind to various kind including wickerwork weaved by wicker only, by grass and wicker, by cattail and wicker, by rattan and wicker. These series of wickerwork unit making skill, decoration and practical applicability together, whose major shape are bread basket, gift basket, multi-layer basket, dog's bed, door curtain, heart shape hanging basket and so on. Gushi wickerwork has ever earned prizes of national Golden medal of High-quality Export Product and provincial golden medal of Rural Enterprise's High-quality Products. Gushi is also established as a export base. 
     
    Gushi wickerwork is a folk traditional industry project along beach regions, which has a very long history. The beach land is very suitable for the growing of wickers. The people on the beach adjust measures to local conditions, exploit wicker resources, use the advantages of traditional making skills and gradually make up a company-base-farmer-united agriculture industrialization pattern. In September, 2003, the Department of Chinese Arts and Crafts Association endowed it a honorary title of the Hometown of Chinese Wickerwork.
