芡实 ，中药材，别名鸡头米、鸡头苞、鸡头莲、刺莲藕、肇实等，为睡莲科植物芡的干燥成熟种仁。以颗粒饱满，均匀，粉性足，无破碎、干燥无杂质者为佳。
      
    淮滨芡实，俗称“鸡头菱”。生于池。沼、沟、塘、湖泊中，其种仁、根部皆可入药，性平味甘涩，具有益精、补脾、止泻功能，淮滨县全境均有，主产淮河以南的张庄、期思、王店等乡。其药用在淮滨由来以久。建国前各药店收购，加工供配方使用，小部分外销。建国后年收购量锐增，曾达5万公斤以上。芡实家植较易，在终年不干涸且有淤泥的水域中，选新鲜老熟种子撒在水中，埋入水底淤泥以防鱼类吞吃，翌年即可出苗生长。
