发现于河南桐柏,1983年被命名为“桐柏大枣”,是极具发展前景的优良品种。
果实近圆形,平均纵径5厘米,横径4.5厘米,平均单果重46克,最大克。果皮中厚、赭红,光洁美观。果个均匀,核小,肉质厚嫩,汁多脆甜,香味浓重,鲜食品质极佳。鲜枣含糖量32.3%,可食率97.2%。为特大果鲜食优良品种。
果实9月下旬成熟,果实发育期110天左右。适应性强,生长期能耐人43℃的高温酷暑,休眠期能抵御-32℃的低温严寒。抗旱,抗涝,耐瘠薄,耐盐碱,极丰产、稳产。桐柏大枣产于河南省南阳市,是一个大枣芽变,1983年发现并定名。该品种个大核小,肉厚皮薄,色泽鲜红,脆甜多汁,平均单果重52克,最大单果重89克,鲜果含糖量32.26%,每百克鲜枣含维生素C442.3毫克,含维生素P(路丁)2385毫克,居各种水果之首,同时还含有丰富的蛋白质、粗纤维等。具有益心润肺,和脾健胃,益气生津,补血养颜之功效。常吃能轻身延年,有益健康。1983年10月在北京经专家评定,桐柏大枣以果大质优被评为中国第一大枣,并被载入《中国枣树志》第一品类中。1995年9月,桐柏大枣荣获“中国科技精品展览会金奖”,1996年被国家林业部确定为100项新成果推广项目。目前,桐柏大枣已被北京、上海、山东、淅江等地广泛引种。
