Fangcheng Shao-mai
In the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, Ma Yuliang began to make Shao-mai in the Kaihuasi Street in Fangcheng town. At first, it was called instead of Shao-mai. Later, it was changed to this name for it was like ear of wheat. Shao-mai is the most famous snack in Fangcheng, which has enjoyed a good reputation for about 100 years. People only produce two steamers every year, with about 400 each steamer. Thus, they are sold very quickly when they are finished. Maybe one reason for its fame is the low yield.
