滑县麦黄杏杏是夏季早熟水果,每年麦黄时成熟上市,故而得名。其特点是成熟早,个头大,果肉甜,味鲜美,树冠大,产量高。滑县年产量在250~300万公斤左右。滑县栽种杏树距今已有3000多年的历史。1978年后,滑县每年把鲜杏加工成杏干、杏脯、罐头等,销往全国各地。杏营养丰富,全身是宝,其核是有名的中药。杏味酸甘、温和,具有下气润嗓,镇咳定喘,生津止渴和开胃的功效。杏中的维生素A、C、黄铜类等物质,以及杏仁中的杏仁甙等,对人体具有防癌、抗癌作用。
