卫香附产于河南滑县。春、夏、秋三季均可采挖，用火燎去须根及鳞叶，入沸水中片刻，或在蒸笼中蒸透取出晒干，再放入竹笼中撞擦；用竹筛簸净灰屑及须毛，就成为光香附。如不经火燎，晒至七八成干，以石碾去毛皮，称香附米。干燥根茎多呈纺锤形，有的略弯曲，表面棕褐色或黑褐色，有纵皱纹及数个隆起的环节，节上有棕毛状物及残留根痕。质坚硬，经蒸煮后，折断面有光泽，色紫红；直接晒干的，外皮与中间圆心分层明显，中心色略深，散布有黑色点状维管束。具有个大，色棕褐，质坚实，肉厚，香气浓，药力大等特点，核居中心，不同于一般偏核香附。所制香附米呈红黄色，半透明，冰块状。具理气解郁、止痛调经之功效，主治肝胃不和，气郁不舒，胸脯胁肋胀痛，疝痛，月经不调，痛经，乳房胀痛等症。



    Nutgrass galingale rhizome is produced in Huaxian County in Henan Province which can harvest in spring, summer and autumn. Burn their fibers and leaves, soak them in boiled water or dry them in the sun after being stewed, filter out their dust and tiny hairs then we can get pure finished ones; dry them in the sun to 70% to 80% ripe without burning them, and grind off skins then we can get nutgrass galingale rhizome.
