蓍草菊科蓍属植物——高山蓍草、欧蓍草和云南蓍草 的全草。夏秋采收，洗净，鲜用或晒干。原产东亚、西伯利亚、日本及中国云南、四川、贵州、湖南西北部、湖北西部、河南西北部、山西南部、陕西中南部、甘肃东部。生于山坡草地或灌丛中。耐寒，喜温暖、湿润；阳光充足及半阴处皆可正常生长。不择土壤， 但在排水良好、富含有机质及石灰质的砂壤土上生长良好。全草具有解毒消肿，止血，止痛的功能。
        
    蓍草被认为是恶魔最爱的植物之一，因此又称为恶魔荨麻。它是运用于爱情及婚姻的魔咒，切开蓍草茎，里面会出现人未来伴侣姓氏的第一个字母。在占卜前喝蓍草茶则可以提高预知能力。


 

Chenzhou Yallow

    Yallow includes alpine yallow, European yallow and Yunnan yallow, which belong to compositae plants. It is harvested in summer or autumn when it is washed and used freshly or after dried. It always grows on grassland on slope or in bush fallows. It has characteristics of enduring cold, loving warm and moist climate, being able to grow in shinning or half-shady places, not picky on soils and so on. However, it likes sandy loam most which is well drained and full of organic matter and calcareous lands. Furthermore, it contains medical functions of detoxicating, detumescence, hemostasis and painkilling.
