百合

    百合又名摩罗，强翟。是一种多年生草本植物，属百合科。高二三尺，地下有鳞茎，叶披针形而互生，夏季茎梢著花，大而美丽，有香气，花裂六片，白色带红，无斑点，雄蕊六个，花药为丁字形，雌蕊一个，柱头三裂，鳞茎供食用，味甚美。
      
    百合自古产于河南，在张衡《南都赋》，清代嵩县知县康基渊的《百合园记》，清末《河南官报》等著作中都有记载。特别是兰考县盛产“考百”，已有400余年的历史。原产于考城县南一带，明万历年间，考城县张风采考中进士，进京面圣时以当地百合进献，圣上食后龙颜大悦，赐名“考百”，从此“考百”名于世。
      
    “考百”质肉细腻，营养丰富，味道醇厚、鲜美，是滋补佳品。但对百合的鳞茎球掰瓣，需经水浸除其苦性，并剔除绿心（绿心极苦，十钱作药，可抵犀角一钱），方可加糖煮食。“考百”销往上海、广州、香港等地，当地设有“考百”店，精制百合汤，就食者络绎不绝，深受欢迎。“考百”大有发展前途，目前，兰考张庄张氏后裔，又培植出百合新品种。
      
    嵩县所产百合小而味甘，为河南特产。


    Lily, also called vimala, belongs to herbaceos perennial and liliaceae, which has a height of 2 to 3m, underground bulbus, pin-shaped leaves as well as big and white flowers. Bulbus is edible and delicious.
      
    They were originally produced in Southern Kaocheng County. In Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, it was named as Kaobai and from then on they earned their high reputation. Lilies are good nourishing food for their fine and smooth sarcocard, rich nutrition and tasty flavor. They are well welcomed by the masses and have been sold to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and so on. Besides, lilies produced in Songxian County also have small shapes and delicious flavor, which are specialties in Henan Province.
